Introduction: Prediction of the actions of others is an integral aspect of human interaction. Indeed, our survival depends on our understanding of others’ activities, intentions, and emotions. The objective of this study was to explore the impact of neurofeedback training on the enhancement of predictive motor control. Method: The population of the research comprised all students at Urmia University, from which 36 individuals (age = 23.20±1.96) were selected as available samples. They were then randomly assigned to three groups, neurofeedback, control, and training. The neurofeedback protocol involved activation of the right primary motor cortex and suppression of Mu waves (8-12 Hz) at the C4 point during a 30-minute session. Predictive motor control was assessed using variables indicative of performance and success on a manual tracking task. Participants were asked to trace a moving target along a circular path by adjusting the movement of the pointer by a target. This task was executed by manipulating game joysticks held in the non-dominant hand, where the direction of the joystick movements mirrored the intended path of the target. Results: The results revealed a significant difference between the training and neurofeedback groups compared to the control group in predictive control indicators, including TOT (p=0.003), CTT (p=0.02), DT (p=0.023), and V (p=0.002). However, no significant difference was observed between the two training groups (p>0.05). Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that a single practice session and a single session of the neurofeedback program can be used interchangeably to acquire skills in predictive motor control. | ||
