| چکیده | ||
| One of the central concerns of ethicists is to obtain a precise picture of the "morally educated person". I proposed such a picture by studying Tabataba'i's constructive perceptions theory and the process of constructing necessity and goodness as a path to moral decision-making. Based on the findings, voluntary action is a direct product of one's construction making system in practical reason, which relies upon theoretical reason. In this framework, human reason holds a privileged position. This study showed that a morally educated person is someone who understands the nature of life, recognizes the powers of the soul and the system of needs; distinguishes true perfection from illusory perfection, and perceives acceptable and valid moral values. Second, in the acting situation (in conflicts of needs and motives), such a person keeps his attention focused on what is right (perceived by theoretical reason), controls temptations of the devil, and deems an action as good and necessary in accordance with acceptable and valid moral values. Therefore, there is complete harmony and correspondence between one’s perception of “The goodness and badness of the action in itself” and “The goodness and badness of an action in the position of performing the action”. In this regard, the education in harmony with human nature and innate disposition (“Fiṭrah”) cultivates one’s natural rational faculties and establishes the conditions for sound decision-making, thereby enabling the individual-as a free agent- to make better choices. | ||
