| چکیده | ||
| Transportation infrastructure such as elevated roads, highways and bridges are vital for public safety and economic development. Structural failures caused by material deterioration ,overloading, or extreme weather conditions pose significantly to safety risks. Structural has emerged as a proactive technique to assess ,detect and prevent structural damage before catastrophic failure. This article reviews current SHM techniques applied to transportation infrastructure, focusing on ,wireless sensor networks vibration based monitoring, and artificial intelligence driven predictive analytics to mention but a few.in addition, adoption of structural montioring in still in its initial stage. Key mathematical models underpinning SHM including wave propagation , structural dynamic systems and machine learning frameworks are also discussed. Furthermore, critical challenges such as data scarcity , environmental variability ,high implementation cost and limited model interpretability are identified. Future research directions are proposed emphasizing on energy harvesting technologies, hybrid monitoring frameworks, and the integration of ditigal twins for intelligent infrastructure management. | ||
