| چکیده | ||
| The success of renewable energy development in Iraq is related to the identification of the appropriate location to use to construct the solar energy farms particularly in places where there are high levels of solar energy such as the Kirkuk City. In this paper a GIS based multi-criteria decision analysis has been used to take into consideration the most optimal location to locate solar energy farms according to the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and its subsequent development, the Fuzzy AHP (FAHP). Some of them were global horizontal irradiance (GHI), wind speed, land use, slope, elevation, proximity of the roads and power lines, soil texture and population density. A sharp weight is assigned to the criteria in the AHP method, in contrast with FAHP, which has triangular fuzzy numbers to indicate uncertainty in the expert ratings. Both the methods were taken to the suitability maps, in which the weighted criteria were added together in a GIS environment. The results indicate that the two strategies identify the north and the central parts of it to be the most suitable when it comes to solar power development. The FAHP was however more realistic and flexible since it reduced subjectivity in the pairwise calculations. As it is evident in the comparative analysis, FAHP would be more helpful to the decision-maker, in the case when a lot of uncertainty exists on site selection. | ||
