| چکیده | ||
| This study investigated the synthesis of silver-reduced graphene oxide nanoparticles (Ag-rGO) and their efficacy in inducing resistance against damping off in cucumbers caused by Pythium aphanidermatum. The direct antifungal activity of Ag-rGO against P. aphanidermatum was also evaluated. Antifungal activity was assessed using a concentration of 100 mg/L Ag-rGO, which exhibited significant in vitro inhibition of P. aphanidermatum growth (about 90% reduction compared to the untreated control). Greenhouse and field trials demonstrated a reduction in damping off incidence in cucumber plants treated with Ag-rGO (about 75-80% reduction, compared to untreated controls). Furthermore, real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) analysis revealed that Ag-rGO treatment upregulated the expression of defense-related genes involved in salicylic acid (SA) and jasmonic acid/ethylene (JA/ET) signaling pathways by up to 10-fold compared to untreated controls. Taken together, this study provides the first report demonstrating the potential of Ag-rGO as a novel strategy for controlling P. aphanidermatum in cucumber. | ||
