| چکیده | ||
| This study investigates the role of Artificial Intelligence and technology in supporting self-training and professional development among Iranian undergraduate TEFL students. Employing a mixed-methods design, the research draws on quantitative survey data and qualitative interview responses collected from 30 intermediate-level students at Islamic Azad University, South Tehran Branch. Results from Chi-square analyses indicate that technology significantly enhances learning flexibility, engagement, and skill development, as well as overall learner motivation. Qualitative findings further reveal that learners rely on technological devices, artificial intelligence applications, and various online platforms to autonomously improve their English proficiency and independent learning abilities. Despite certain barriers, students generally regard AI and digital technologies as indispensable components of their academic and professional advancement. The article concludes by outlining pedagogical implications for Iranian universities and proposing directions for future research on AI- and technology-integrated TEFL practices. The findings can have pedagogical implications for EFL learners and other stakeholders in the field, particularly within diverse educational and instructional contexts. | ||
